ENERGY-SAVING HEAT CONTROL SYSTEM HAS NEW COMPUTERIZED ELECTRONICS
PACE© Weather-SensitiveTM Perimeter Heat Control Saves up to
50% on Energy;
Works with Electric, Hydronic Systems; Installs in New or Existing
Buildings
(Rahway, NJ) -- New digital electronics give the PACE® energy-saving
perimeter heat control system more control features and easier operation,
while a new hydronic capability permits use in commercial buildings
with electric or hot water heat.
PACE uses weather sensors to anticipate and compensate for building
heat needs. It then modulates perimeter heating, eliminating the blast/freeze
effect of conventional on/off systems to reduce building heat loss and
improve comfort. The system can cut energy costs by as much as 50%.
"The
upgraded electronics offer better control, remote access to diagnose
problems, and much more detailed reporting," said William Piegari, president
of General Electronic Enterprises, manufacturer of PACE. "And our new,
patented hydronic controls make the benefits of PACE available to buildings
with hot water heat as well as those with electric heat."
The microcomputer-based direct digital control lets facilities managers
use a PC to monitor operations and change settings. Standard software
features include trend reporting plus alarms for bad sensors, out-of-limit
temperatures, and out-of-limit operating conditions.

Controls
The new digital controls allow PACE to be integrated into a computerized
building automation system. Users can also order optional graphic display
software that shows total system operation.
Other features of the PACE system include easy installation, faster
optimization and operation, and low maintenance costs.
"We've
also refined our patented weather-sensitive features," Piegari said.
The PACE
system continuously monitors outdoor ambient temperature, solar, and wind
conditions for various zones on a building to help determine heating requirements.
When the sun heats one building surface, for example, PACE reduces heat
output in that zone to maintain comfort and cut costs. No indoor heating
controls are required or used in the system.
